Naamkaran Sanskaar is one of the important sixteen sacraments (Shodasha Sanskaras) in Hindu tradition. This ritual is performed to formally give a name to a newborn child while praying for the child’s healthy, bright, and successful life.
During this ceremony, a priest performs pooja, havan, and Vedic chants to seek divine blessings. The baby’s name is chosen at an auspicious time, often based on the child’s birth chart and constellation (nakshatra).
